Wyldheart currently requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12, 16 GB RAM, a broadband connection, 10 GB of available storage, and an SSD. The minimum target is 1080p at Medium settings and 30 FPS. The recommended target is 1080p at High settings and 60 FPS. Steam marks these profiles as work in progress ahead of release.
Official PC requirements
Read each row as a complete profile. A GPU above minimum does not guarantee the recommended result when the CPU, cooling, memory availability, or storage falls short.
Find the exact hardware in Windows
Open Task Manager and use the Performance tab to read the full CPU name, installed memory, GPU model, dedicated GPU memory, and storage devices. Use DirectX Diagnostic Tool for Windows and driver details. Write complete models; “Ryzen 5” and “RTX” each cover many products.
On a laptop, record the laptop model and GPU power behavior. A mobile part with a familiar name can perform differently from the desktop version. Confirm the game library itself is on an SSD, not simply that the computer contains another SSD.
Choose the target that matches your PC
Near minimum, start from the stated 1080p/Medium/30 FPS expectation. Prioritize stable frame pacing and readable input. Near recommended, begin around 1080p/High/60 FPS. Neither profile promises high-refresh play, native 1440p or 4K, ultrawide behavior, or a particular Steam Deck frame rate.
The current page does not state an upscaling mode. Check the live graphics menu rather than assuming one is required or disabled. Record resolution, preset, cap, and any reconstruction setting when comparing results.
Plan storage and memory headroom
Steam lists 10 GB available space and requires an SSD. Leave extra room for client updates, temporary patching, shader data, logs, and future demo changes. Do not confuse a depot download figure with the stable installed-size requirement.
With exactly 16 GB RAM, close heavy browsers, recording tools, or other games before testing. Avoid “memory cleaner” utilities that introduce another variable. If stutter appears, compare committed memory, GPU memory, temperatures, and frame-time behavior in the same scene.
Understand network and offline limits
Broadband internet is part of both official profiles because the demo normally contacts online services for login and saving. Hotfix 0.7.2 allows a no-save offline route when connectivity blocks play, but closing that session loses its progress. A working offline launch does not prove that the saved online campaign is healthy.
Check official status before changing the PC. If service is normal, restart Steam and the demo, verify files, and retry. Keep the version, region, UTC time, and exact error for a useful report.
Steam Deck and Linux are outside the native requirement
The official FAQ says the demo can run on Steam Deck while recommending PC and mouse/keyboard during ongoing optimization. Steam does not list native Linux, and the statement is not a Deck Verified badge. Treat a Deck run as compatibility-layer testing and document model, SteamOS, compatibility version, settings, and location.
macOS is not in the current native platform list. Do not promise support from hardware similarity or a store tag.
Recheck before buying hardware
The developer says these requirements are a work in progress and do not reflect all optimization planned before release. If a purchase depends on a specific frame target, wait for the active build and a benchmark with comparable hardware. Recheck the Steam listing at Early Access because the base game can differ from Demo 0.7.2.
